Volunteer
If you're interested in sharing your gifts and talents with a vibrant community of men and women, maybe volunteering at Recovery Cafe is for you! Our wonderful volunteers help hold the essence of the Recovery Cafe by nurturing a sense of loving community and a culture of recovery. You can come for just an hour or two, or sign up for a regular weekly or monthly time slot.
Some of our volunteer opportunities are listed below. If you don't see an idea that work for you, just ask give us a call or .
Ministers of Presence Program
Our Ministers of Presence offer a listening ear and an open heart to the lives of our Café members. Weekly volunteer shifts are available from 12:30-7:00 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Benefits include training, working on a team, and opportunities to encourage and connect with people at various stages of recovery. Our Ministers of Presence are the hands and feet of the Café by accompaning members as needed to other resources outside the Café such as doctor appointments, hospital visits, housing meetings, etc. These special volunteers advocate for and help members navigate the complex social services system. Minimum commitment is one volunteer shift per week, plus quarterly training sessions.
Teach a Class at Recovery Café
Let your gift of teaching shine at the Recovery Café! We offer a wide variety of classes, typically held in the afternoons from 1:30-3:30 p.m., though not limited to that time slot. If you have a particular gift, skill or interest that you’d like to share in a 2-6 week class, contact us.
